报告摘要

In recent years, dielectric resonator antennas (DRAs) have attracted extensive research interest due to their compact size, high eficiency, and ease of excitation. Among the key design parameters, theoperating firequency plays a critical role. Traditionally, the dielectric waveguide model (DWM) has been employed to calculate the resonant frequencies of various DRA modes based on the dimensions and dielectric constant εr  of the antennas. A rectangular DRA can be configured to realize a tri-band operation by exciting the ,,and    modes. When these three modes are properly combined, they can yield a wide bandwidth. To achieve this, three simultaneous transcendental equations, which correspond to the three resonant modes, must be solved to determine the three DRA dimensions, leading to a unique design solution.

In this talk, we address the inverse problem: determining the DRA dimensions of a tri-mode rectangular DRA given the dielectric constant εr  and three target resonant frequencies. The methodology and results of this approach will be presented in detail. Limitations of the tri-mode DRA design will also be presented in this talk.
